The West Shore is a volcanic beach stretching along the edge of the Crimson Sea. Lava flows creep to the West Shore frequently to empty into the Crimson Sea.

The beaches are made of black volcanic sand and, further inland, there are rugged outcroppings of igneous rocks where lava flows have hardened. Trickles of fresh lava are always around, making the area treacherous.
