One of the oldest known dragon types, the mine dragon spends much of its time deep underground in the cold Dramoria Mines. Because they are often seen running into walls while moving about, it was once thought that they felt their way around using their beards. We now know that they just have really poor eyesight.
—Nogard's description of the mine dragon in The Book of Dragons

The Mine Dragon is a hybrid dragon of the Cold and Metal elements. It's main element is Cold.

Appearance[]

A mine dragon has bluish-gray scales, with an orange cartilage on its underside and wings. It has two horns pointing straight back, some fur-like scales on its face and tail, and large back legs. Perhaps the strangest thing about the mine dragon is how it lives with its large hump. Wizards are still unsure what magic the mine dragon uses to be able to keep its balance and fly with its hump.
